Testing is now available for people:

A) Who have at least one symptom of COVID-19, even for mild symptoms.

If you have severe symptoms – call 911 or go to the Emergency Department

If you want to be tested and have symptoms – Book an appointment (8:00am – 4:00pm 7 days/week) with PRHC’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre by calling 705-876-5086 if you can travel there safely without putting others at risk; if you cannot travel there safely, contact your health care provider to be referred for testing by paramedics

B) Who do not have symptoms but:

  • are concerned that they have been exposed to COVID-19.  This includes people who are contacts of or may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case.
  • are at risk of exposure to COVID-19 through their employment, including essential workers (e.g., health care workers, grocery store employees, food processing plants).

Peterborough’s drive-through COVID-19 testing site for people without symptoms is at Eastgate Memorial Park, 2150 Ashburnham Drive in East City.

The link to the booking tool is now available through the PRHC website at www.prhc.on.ca and the Peterborough Public Health website at www.peterboroughpublichealth.ca

Check here for operating hours.
Please note that children under one year old will not be swabbed at this clinic and should be referred to their family healthcare provider for testing.

Those wishing to be tested on the weekend (with or without symptoms) can call the COVID-19 Assessment Centre at PRHC at 705-876-5086 to book an appointment.

The test will only say whether you are positive or negative for the COVID-19 virus at the point in time the swab was taken.

It does not tell you whether you are immune to the virus, and a negative test does not mean you should relax physical distancing and other precautions.

A serology test for COVID-19 – which determines whether a person has previously had the virus by identifying antibodies in the person’s system – is not yet available in Canada.
